Gandhi’s menu starts at just AED 260 per person
Back in 2015, Nikita Gandhi became the youngest ever winner of ‘MasterChef India’ at just 21 years old. Now four years later, she is back to serve her menu at the ‘MasterChef, the TV Experience’ restaurant.
The ‘MasterChef’ restaurant has an interesting premise. Diners pick their meal from a mystery box, similar to the ones found in challenges on the actual show. The box contains up to nine ingredients, you choose which ones you would like in your meal. Then 45 minutes later, you have a personalised dish put in front of you.
This Eid though, the restaurant has invited Gandhi to present her own ‘Champion menu’ to diners. On June 6th and 7th, diners can enjoy a five-course meal with the focus on elegant vegetarian Indian dishes.
The dining experience kicks off with a spicy kiwi mimosa, made with kiwi, green chili and mint popsicle, and elderflower tonic water. The amuse bouche is the so-called BlackOut pani puri, where the crispy puri is given a charcoal touch up, very fashionable these days, while the ‘water’ is a blend of passion fruit foam, and mango and pineapple salsa. This is followed by a paneer tikka and mozzarella empanada.

The mains include a choice between Gandhi’s famous crispy eggplant layered with ricotta and makhani sauce, or a wide mushroom kofta with warm pumpkin sauce and truffle butter naan. A mint tea sphere with roasted grapes is given as a palate cleanser.

Next is the stuffed kulfi bar, with pistachio barfi, ice cream and dark chocolate. Finally is a digestive tea blended with fennel, star anise and fresh herbs.
This menu comes in at AED 260 per person for a soft drink pairing or a AED 360 price tag for a bubbly drink pairing.

“In a city that welcomes cuisines from the world over and where diners have an appetite for creative cuisine, I’m hoping the spin I’ve added to traditional Indian dishes [demonstrate] the possibilities of reinterpreting classics,” says Gandhi, adding: ““Having grown up in the UAE, I feel proud that Dubai is home to the first MasterChef, the TV Experience restaurant.”
