It marks the first time a computer-generated model has been signed by a top LA agency

Introducing Daisy Paige, just another up-and-coming model hoping to make it big in the cutthroat world of fashion. However, there’s something a tad different about Ms Paige: she’s 100 per cent computer generated.

The ’19-year-old’ model was created by LA tech startup Spark CGi, which describes her as a “self-assured, freckle-faced” creation.

Paige has just been signed by Lipps LA, known for working with famous faces such as rapper Cardi B, rocker Courtney Love and supermodel legend Helena Christensen.

“We are super excited to partner with Spark CGi and be one of the first to merge tech and fashion in the digital space, representing digital CGI models,” said Scott Lipps, President and Founder of Lipps LA.

“We’re moving into a new era where Artificial Intelligence and CGI characters will co-exist with humans in many traditional roles including acting, modelling, presenting and influencing,” explained Spark CGi’s Lead Artist and Designer, Phillip Jay.

“There’s so many opportunities for the ‘people’ we’re creating; we’re only just beginning to scratch the surface of this technology.”

Computer generated influencers are nothing new. Last month, Calvin Klein cast its first digital influencer Lil Miquela alongside Bella Hadid in a campaign video.

As Spark CGi pointed out, Lil Miquela tends to use real models wearing real clothes, with a CGI head superimposed over the top for social media. Its robot – Paige – is 100 per cent computer generated, right down to the outfits she wears.

The result should make for a more flexible model.

Paige has yet to sign a fashion label, and an Instagram page has just been started for her.
