Dubai Police were forced to arrest a man who decided to lay down on a pillow in the middle of a busy road in Deira. He was apprehended on Salah Al Din Street in Al Muraqabbat.
It’s important to stop and take a moment to appreciate the beautiful world we live in and not take it for granted, but not when it risks your life or the lives of others.
The original video was posted on TikTok and went viral across social media platforms.
The man may have been troubled in some way as he had stated:
“I’m not scared of dying but scared to die in a foreign land.”
Dubai Police issue a warning
Dubai Police tweeted that anyone who takes such actions in the UAE will find themselves in jail as well as with a hefty fine.

“According to article 399 of the Federal Penal Code No 31 of 2021, anyone who deliberately commits an act that would endanger the life, health, and security of people, will be sentenced to imprisonment and a fine.”
Not a TikTok trend
What’s interesting or perhaps merely coincidental is that the location where this event took place was Al Muraqabbat which, when translated into English means “the monitor”.
Being that a monitor is a device used for observing something, perhaps this man thought that by choosing a street in Al Muraqabbat, he would attract the most eyes and go viral.

Just to clarify, this is not the latest TikTok trend. There are much safer trends that users should be following should they want to become an internet sensation.
Dubai Police encourage users to report illegal and harmful practices on its smart app, the Police Eye which aims to uphold the law and reduce crime in the city.
While the goal of TikTok videos may be to gain the most views, one must seriously reconsider the content they’re sharing should it attract the watchful Police Eye.

Back in August, a Talabat rider, Abdul Ghafoor Abdul Hakeem ran into the middle of busy traffic junction to remove two concrete bricks that could’ve caused a serious car accident.
Perhaps another reason that this Asian man decided to block the road in Deira was that he wanted to be rescued by the Dubai Hero so that he too could go viral and meet Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan.
