We don’t know how to feel about a clean shaven Jason Momoa or Kit Harington

There’s seems to be a weird celebrity bug going around Hollywood lately. From Jason Momoa to Kit Harington, stars are opting to shave off their prized beards.

Jason Momoa for one is almost unrecognisable in his new sheared off avatar that harks back to his Baywatch days in the early 2000s. But why take such a drastic step? Momoa’s Khal Drogo-esque beard made him one of the most recognisable faces in Hollywood.

His new look, however, was for a good cause. Saying goodbye to Khal Drogo and Arthur Curry, Momoa headed off into the wilderness and took to his YouTube channel raise awareness about recycling and the need to save our planet.

Mid-shave, Momoa gave a lengthy speech about aluminium and how we need to do more for the environment. The 4-minute long video of him shaving it all off in the desert while making the case for using aluminium cans instead of water over plastic bottles has probably dominated your newsfeed all week. Although it’s probably not what the world expected of the star, the video has predictably gone viral.

Perhaps Momoa shaving off his beard might be the sign of a new trend in men’s grooming. While his drastic transformation showed off the handsome, clean shaven Momoa that we’d all forgotten, the same can’t be said for his Game of Thrones co-star Kit Harington.

Harington debuted his new look while hosting SNL and said: “I’ve just shaved my beard so this is more of a pre-pubescent Jon Snow. This is Jon Snow if he suddenly played for the Yankees.”

However, the reception has not gone so well making the case that not all men can pull off the no beard look. The Game of Thrones actor has left fans devastated after he debuted a new fresh-faced appearance.

Dare we say it, but there was a collective cringe across the universe seeing a fresh-faced Kit Harington.

Sometimes a look just isn’t complete without a fully grown beard and given new reaserch that suggests, men with beards are more attractive, maybe it’s time to just stick with those beards men.

A study in the Journal of Evolutionary Biology asked 8,500 women to rate men with and without beards, highlighting which of the two had a higher boyfriend potential.

And sadly for the men without beards, the study reported that every single woman preferred the men with facial hair.
