Snow Abu Dhabi will offer enchanted tree, a snowflake garden, a crystal carousel, an ice labyrinth, tobogganing, and more

Reem Mall, located in Abu Dhabi’s Al Reem Island, is shaping up to be a city by itself. The two million square feet shopping mall, now under construction, is set to feature over 450 retail stores and 85 different food dining options—and it may be opening sooner than you think.

The $1.2 billion project shared on its social media channels their current progress in building the gargantuan new shopping destination, and it appears to be almost 95 percent done.

In the footage, posted on YouTube, you can get your first look at the gigantic space, yet to be filled with any of the shops, activities and goodies that will eventually fill the mall, but giving you a strong sense of the breadth of the project and the vibe that the mall will certainly offer.

Besides the many shops that are set to open in the location, Reem Mall will also have some particularly enticing attractions for Abu Dhabi residents who aren’t in the mood to head all the way to Dubai to go skiing on the weekend at Mall of the Emirates’ Ski Dubai

Reem Mall’s snow park, called Snow Abu Dhabi, is promised to be ‘one of the world’s largest snow parks.’ The layout should be familiar to those who have visited Ski Dubai, but with some special offerings that Ski Dubai does not, including themed characters and 13 thrilling rides and attractions.

Snow Abu Dhabi’s entertainment facilities will include an enchanted tree, a snowflake garden, a crystal carousel, an ice labyrinth, tobogganing, and more. Only time will tell how it measures up to Ski Dubai, but the expansive space promises an immersive journey into the winter season.

The park will maintain a temperature of -2ºC, with a 500mm covering of snow.

The stores that have been confirmed include 23 from Landmark Group, whose portfolio includes New Look, Reiss, Adidas Kids, Ecco, Koton, Yours London, Lipsy, Steve Madden, Carpisa, Nose, Pablosky, Aerosoles, Kurt Geiger, Stride Rite, Blocco 31, Kazar, and Loriblu. While we don’t know which ones will end up in Reem Mall, certainly some of these names will appear.

As for dining, the announced F&B projects are the Lodge Restaurant, Grotto Amphitheatre, and a Chocolate Bar that serves hot chocolate.
