Deep Dive Dubai is opening to the public later this July

Will Smith and Sheikh Hamdan have already taken down the plunge into the world’s deepest pool that is about to open in Dubai, and it’s hard not to be jealous.

Sheikh Hamdan, the Crown Prince of Dubai, is known to be a passionate diver. In fact he has previously been filmed diving with an elephant and whale sharks.

On his Instagram story, The Crown Prince had shared a video of himself equipped in full diving gear as he swims to the surface.

Sheikh Hamdan brought his friend Will Smith, perhaps Dubai’s most frequent tourist, to take the plunge with him.

In a video posted to his social media, Smith says,“So I’m Always in Dubai, a friend of mine told me I had to check out this pool. There’s something … weird about it,” he says before he points the camera at the pool, giving his followers an idea of how deep it really is.

“Deep Dive Dubai, I’m about to go down. Deepest pool on Earth. It’s madness” he says before ending the video.

Deep Dive Dubai just opened in Nad Al Sheba, and it looks absolutely incredible.

It just got a Guinness certification for the world’s deepest swimming pool for diving, at a staggering 60.02 metres deep. The certification happened on June 29, to make it all official.

Ok, so what is Deep Dive Dubai? It’s a diving attraction that allows both beginner and professional divers to swim down into an abandoned and flooded city, both for scuba and freediving alike.

It’s open now on an invite-only basis, with full bookings to open in late July through their website listed below.

Experiences and courses will be priced starting at AED 800.

It’s a controlled diving environment, making it safe for novices, and is filled with 14 million liters of warm water.

The attraction was inspired by the UAE’s rich history of pearl-diving.

It’s also set to open a hyperbaric chamber and restaurant within the venue starting towards the end of 2021.

There’s a ton to do in the venue, shaped like a giant oyster, including an abandoned streetscape, apartment, garage, as well as the aforementioned arcade, which hopefully will feature the underwater levels of Mario and Sonic.

The attraction is located 15 minutes from Downtown Dubai and 25 minutes from the Dubai International Airport, and offers a range of experiences.

Not an experienced diver? The location also offers diving courses and workshops, ranging from beginners to technical instructors.

The courses offered are across three categories: Discover, Dive, and Develop, open to both residents and visitors aged 10 and up.

‘Discover’ is for those who want to try a single dive or take the first steps towards certification.

‘Dive’ is for both newbies and experienced individuals who want to dive within their limits.

‘Develop’ is for training, to develop skills and gain certifications, from entry to instructor level.

Jarrod Jablonski, Deep Dive Dubai’s Director, is a record-holding cave diver, who wants to bring a bit of the real life cave diving experience to the UAE in a controlled, safe environment.

“By design, Deep Dive Dubai offers something truly unique for everyone and our team is committed to ensuring a memorable experience, with outstanding service, for everyone, every time,” said Jablonski.

“For those seeking a unique experience, Deep Dive Dubai provides an exceptional, safe and controlled environment to learn all about diving. For experienced members of the freedive and scuba dive communities, it’s a facility and experience like no other.”

Deep Dive Dubai is also the region’s largest underwater film studio, complete with a media editing room, a video wall, 56 underwater cameras and the ability to create different moods with 164 lights positioned throughout the pool.

it will also be able to hold events for up to 100 people and onsite catering options, as well as offer space to hold meetings, incentives, conference, and has an event venue with the ability to hold a variety of events ranging from product launches, movie screenings and conferences through to birthday parties and weddings.

The entire attraction looks absolutely insane, and is sure to become one of the new hottest spots in the city, offering a vastly different experience from anything else out there right now.

Deep Dive Dubai will be open for public bookings by the end of July and once it’s open, it’s sure to fill up quickly.
