Paris-based Spanish fashion designer Arturo Obegero will virtually premiere his Spring Summer 2022 collection on the Arab Fashion Week- Men’s live stream on June 30, at 9:05 pm GST.
Arab Fashion Week-Men’s will host more than 10 menswear designers to showcase their collection through both virtual and physical presentations. Those established and emerging designers come from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, France, Sweden, and China. This includes Amato, Valette Studio, Zardouz, EGOnlab, Emergency Room, Todd Hessert, Louis Gabriel Nouchi, Yasqueen, Lazoschmidl, 1886, Tommazo, Proud Angeles, Behnoode, Arturo Obergo, and Anomalous.
Obegero’s spring collection, Euphoria, holds characteristics that are romantic and sensual for all genders. His work was inspired by dancers Pina Bausch and Antonio Gades in hopes of creating an approachable wardrobe.

Obergo prefers his work to be “something less primal, where you show feelings rather than skin. Sexy is the freedom of showing who you are. The people I look up to are performers, like Antonio Gades, an amazing flamenco dancer who brought flamenco into a modern contemporary vision. He had a presence when he walked, he was a walking poem and that’s how I want people to feel: empowered, showing your true colors, your sensitivity and your vulnerability,” he told Women’s Wear Daily.
The Federation of haute couture and fashion member is not only known for his sustainable work from leftover materials from haute couture houses, but also his gender-neutral fashion.
Obegero aims to deconstruct society’s idea of gendered fashion and prefers to transmit poise and posture by designing various shapes to compliment different body types. Individuals like Solange Knowles, Christine and the Queens, and Belgian singer Tamino have worn Obegero’s designs.
People watching the show through Instagram Live will be able to pre-order the designer’s work directly through Instagram Shopping. Find the full schedule for the event here.
