Shows and movies focused on empowering women will soon be curated all in one place across the Middle East.
On this year’s International Women’s Day, a new TV and streaming channel with a content lineup dedicated to women’s empowerment will launch in the Middle East by OSN.
The shows and movies will be focused on fashion, health, parenting, relationships and reality, with exclusive movies and shows launching with the channel on March 8.
Headlining the launch will be the documentary A Perfect 14 directed Giovanna Morales Vargas. The film explores the world of plus-sized models who are fighting to reshape the fashion industry and challenging traditional beauty standards.
Also debuting with the channel will be the documentary Women Like Us, a documentary about three women who travel across both the United States and Kenya to tackle injustice.
Included on the channel will also be the recently launched documentary Framing Britney Spears, which has trended across the world for its scathing indictment of the sexist media and pop culture abuse that Britney Spears unjustly went through during the singer’s rise and fall.
Other films and shows that will be shown on the channel include First Ladies, Public Figure, Fashion Start-Up, Inside Misguided and Royals Declassified to name a few.
The channel was spearheaded by female programming specialists at OSN.
“We are excited and proud to launch this unique project on International Women’s Day, a day that celebrates the achievements of women all over the world. We want to send a message to all the women of the region that we listen to them and care about bringing content that connects with them and answers their daily needs,” said Rolla Karam, Interim Chief Content Officer, OSN.
Karam also promised that the channel and OSN broadly will be producing more OSN Originals made by women in the coming future.
