Saudi-born fashion designer and entrepreneur Hatem Alakeel, has joined the Esquire Saudi team as a Contributing Editor, ahead of the brand’s launch in the Kingdom in March 2021.
As the first international men’s title to be published in the Kingdom, Esquire Saudi looks to champion a new generation of creative talents in the country, something that Alakeel knows plenty about.
With 17-years of experience in fashion, retail and content creation in the Saudi and wider GCC market, Alakeel created his own fashion brand Toby by Hatem Alakeel, which has seen him win wide-spread praise including previous Esquire Middle East awards for best regional fashion designer.
“I am honored to have been given this opportunity,” says Alakeel. “It’s time to break the ceiling on the limitations of men’s wear and talent in Saudi.”
Alakeel has long been a champion for the creative Saudi talent, launching his own consultancy and creative production outfit, Authenticité, last year.
“I see it as my mission to help pay it forward, and shed light on the hidden gems in the Kingdom – with both women as well as men. And I think Esquire Saudi is the perfect platform to do this.”
The Saudi edition of Esquire, will be run by an ITP editorial team based in Riyadh working with local contributors, stylists, photographers and content creators.
