David ‘the candyman’ Klein is offering prizes if you find the golden ticket

The founder of the Jelly Bean is holding his own Willy Wonka-style Golden Ticket treasure hunt, with cash prizes for those who find the treasure.

Klein has hidden several ‘golden tickets’ at popular places in all 50 of the US’ states. Find a ticket, and you get US$5,000 no questions ask. But the second prize is probably the most interesting.

Just like in the Roald Dahl novel, those who find the Golden Ticket will go into the running to win the key to one of Jelly Bean’s candy factories.

Winners will also get a free trip to ‘candy school’ where they can learn to make their own candy (and we guess, run the factory as they see fit).

Unlike the book and the popular film from 1971, the contest is not only applicable to children. Anyone can join, provided they pay up the US$50 entrance fee. Once that is done, you will get your first clue and the competition is afoot.

There are only 1,000 places open, and you have to be in the US in order to participate.

So, who wants to be the next Charlie?
