The Mandalorian season 2 will premiere on October 30 on Disney+.
While the ongoing pandemic has affected many films and TV series, fortunately The Mandalorian’s second outing wrapped production before lockdown.
“This is the day. New epsides start streaming October 30 on Disney+” said the official Twitter account of The Mandalorian. The official Star Wars account followed up a minute later.
The first season was celebrated commercially and critically. It led to more than 15 million Disney+ subscribers, and was called one of the best Star Wars series in history by pundits.
After its premiere episode, a new episode will come out each week.
Season 2 will bring with it some familiar faces, and new ones. Jon Favreau continues as showrunner and writer, and this time around he will also direct an episode alongside newcomers Peyton Reed (he did Ant-Man), Robert Rodriguez (Sin City), and cast member Carl Weathers. Returning directors include Dave Filoni, Rick Famuyiwa, and Bryce Dallas Howard.
New actors include Rosario Dawson (Luke Cage) as Anakin Skywalker’s ex Padawan Ahsoka Tano, Katee Sackhoff (from Battlestar Galactica) as well as Temeura Morrison who will play Mandalor’s former ruler.
October can’t come soon enough.
