A 5.0 magnitude quake has been recorded in the Arabian Sea

Who felt that? A 5.0 magnitude earthquake on the Richter scale was recorded in the Arabian Sea, at around 11:15 AM UAE time.

The quake – which ocurred around 800 kilometres from Oman’s coast – was recorded by the UAE’s National Center of Meteorology. The earthquake occored at a depth of 48 kilometres.

Fun fact: one of the greatest shocks ever recorded by seismographs was an earthquake also in the Arabian Sea, about 300 kilometres away from Karachi. The quake which was recorded back in 1945 was rumoured to have been near the double ridge that runs along the bed of the sea.

This quake was so far away from land that it’s doubtful it would have caused any harm.
