Ulysse Nardin has unveiled the Blast – a watch that matches rock-hard lines with the design ethos of a stealth bomber.
If you think that design ethos is a bit, ‘out there’ that’s because it is.
The new Blast makes use of the same modular-type frame used by stealth aircraft to dodge radar waves, but also makes use of U Ulysse Nardin’s signature rectangular frame and the 3-horned strap fixer.
The design boffs also restyled the dial hands, making them look aerodynamic with a two-tone polished/satin-finish.
The Blast is powered by the brand’s new UN-172 movement, with a three day power reserve. It has an automatic tourbillon that you can see via the skeletonized dial. Of interest is the tiny yet powerful platinum micro-rotor visible only from the front of the watch at the 12 o’clock position.

The Blast took 18-months to make and comes in four models in either Fire or Ice variant. As you’d expect, the Ice models (White Blast and Blue Blast) come with white ceramic and blue detailing. Contrary, the Fire models are a mixture of rose gold and black ceramic.
