Famed architect’s last project is now home to David and Victoria Beckham

Miami’s One Thousand Museum Residences, the last project that Zaha Hadid and her firm worked on, has just opened.

The highrise – which is quickly becoming a city landmark – was considered one of the world’s most challenging architectural projects in the world, thanks to its exoskeleton. Zaha Hadid Architect’s signature ‘waterdrop’ motif appears inside the common space, including a vast wellness center, a roof helipad, private beach club and on-premises bank account.

David and Victoria Beckham bought a home in the building.

The star of the show here is the penthouse, one of ten full-floor mansions in the sky. At 11,500-square-feet, it comes with five bedrooms and stunning views.

Fully-wired up, just about everything can be controlled via smartphone – from the gym and media room, to the Italian kitchen. The 90-foot terrace gives you unobstructed views over Biscayne Bay and the beach below.

Details such as zigzag door handles were designed by Zaha Hadid herself, just before her death. As such, this makes Thousand Museum Residences not just a pretty epic building, but a little slice or architectural history. As such, it doesn’t come cheap.

The penthouse is work a cool US$18.8 million.
