Emirati artist was the only Arab act on the historic ‘One World’ broadcast

Emirati singer Hussain Al Jassmi wowed international audiences during the live broadcast of the One World Together concert earlier this morning. Al Jassmi was the onlyArab artist to take part in the concert that’s garnered over 17 milion views and counting on YouTube.

He performed after British artist Rita Ora and was introduced by the “Good Place’ Star Jameela Jamil. 

The singer performed ‘Bahebek Wahashteni’ (‘I Love You, I’ve Missed You’) and ‘Mohem Jedan’ (‘Very Important’).  

“The Emirates has provided aid to more than 15 countries around the world through ongoing medical and humanitarian aid,” he said. “I’m proud to be an Emirati and I hope the dark cloud hovering over us will end soon, so we can meet again and go back to our regular encounters, through concerts and social visits.”

Jassmi was recently named an Expo 2020 Dubai Ambassador, as Expo seeks to spotlight the UAE’s rich culture and showcase its talented population to a global audience in the lead up to the World’s Greatest Show.

US media reports that $128 million (Dh470 million) was raised to help fight Covid-19 from the effort.
