‘I can show you that we’re in this together’

The world is bleak right now with more than 3 billion people currently under lockdown measures to stop the spread of Covid 19. One doctor however is using his TikTok account to share some positivity all while treating patients at his hospital.

31-year-old Dr. Jason Campbell is a second-year anesthesiology resident at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, Oregon. Good Morning America reports that “while mentoring a medical student, Campbell mentioned that he wanted to share some op-eds he’d written and find a way to reach out to the youth in his community. She suggested that he get on the app TikTok.”

And lo behold, a viral legend was created.

Campbell and his colleagues perform dance routines set to songs like “Cha-Cha Slide” and “Cupid Shuffle.”

“If I can reach (young people) through dancing then hopefully I can bring them to medicine or to law or to business,” Campbell said.

Usually pictured in his blue scrubs and bandana, Campbell’s quirky moves and smile has won him millions of fans.

His video titled “Coronavirus Foot Shake. No hand shakin’ allowed in the hospital!” now has over 223,000 views on the popular app but is nowhere close to his most watched video.
