“Not to sound dramatic, but this is the day I nearly died,” said Jared Leto on Twitter, before posting a video of himself holding on to a fraying rope for dear life.
The expletive-laden video shows the time that Suicide Squad and Morbius star Leto “almost died” while rock climbing.
“Looked up and within seconds the rope was being cut by the rock while I dangled some 600 ft in the air. I remember looking down at the ground below,” said Leto.
The safety rope Leto was using frays slowly and almost snaps before Leto eventually gets himself back onto the sheer rock face.

“It was a strange moment – less fear, more matter of fact, and slightly melancholy,” he wrote. “The adrenaline came after when I got back on the wall.
“But we made it through and lived to see another day. Overall it was actually quite fun. We continued climbing into the night…”

The sharing of the images and video prompted Leto’s fans to express relief that he was safe and sound.
“Scary enough, even though we all know, it went well. Please, do not repeat in 2020 and all subsequent years,” said one fan.
Another wrote: “I’m glad we didn’t lose you, and you are safe and still climb!”
