The fourth Thor installment has been announced and Natalie Portman has been revealed as the new, mighty female Thor. Now, former Batman, Christian Bale will be joining the new movie as well.
Collider reported that Batman star Christian Bale was in talks to join returning players Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman and Tessa Thompson in Thor: Love and Thunder. Now, Thompson has confirmed the news.
Digital Spy UK reported that while speaking to ET at the premiere of Westworld, Valkyrie Tessa Thompson said: “Christian Bale is going to play our villain, which is going to be fantastic.”
Teasing what we can expect from the movie, she added: “I’ve read the script [but] I can’t tell you much. [There’s been] lots of exciting text messages exchanged between Natalie and I – we’re going to have fun. Taika [Waititi] is writing and directing. [There’s] some familiar faces [and] some new people coming into the mix.”
The director of Thor: Ragnarok, Taika Waititi will be directing this new movie. Waititi is responsible for rejuvenating the Thor franchise and the 2017 movie grossed over $854 million at the box office worldwide.
