Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates recently revealed he bought an all-electric Porsche Taycan, rather than a Tesla

There’s a big, fat billionaire spat going on in the tech world right now, as Tesla CEO, Elon Musk is a bit miffed that Bill Gates decided to buy a Porsche Taycan instead of a Tesla.

Gates recently revealed he bought a Taycan in an interview with YouTuber Marques Brownlee.

The 64-year-old Gates said in his interview that electric vehicles would still fall behind gasoline cars when it comes to ultimate range, but added that passenger cars are “one of the most hopeful” factors in keeping things a bit more environmentally-friendly.

While Gates was all priase for Tesla and their contribution to the car market, Musk wasn’t impressed.

“And certainly Tesla, if you had to name one company that’s helped drive that, it’s them,” Gates said. But he’s not buying one of the company’s cars just yet: “I just got a Porsche Taycan.”

“I have to say, it’s a premium price car but it is very, very cool,” Gates added. “That’s my first electric car and I’m enjoying it a lot.”

In reaction to that news, Elon Musk took swipe at Microsoft’s Bill Gates on Twitter, tweeting that his conversations with Gates had been “underwhelming.”

While Gates doesn’t seem the sort to retaliate to that comment, we’re hoping this billionaire spat gets a little more interesting.
