Portuguese football superstar has been named as the latest high-profile celebrity to secure special visa

What’s better than a regular UAE residency visa you might ask? Well, it’s the UAE’s ‘gold card’ residency visa. Portuguese football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has recently been granted the so-called Gold Card residency visa in the UAE, according to GulfToday.

Now, while this new residency card is one many believe to be a myth, the UAE Cabinet have confirmed last month that they would add athletes to the eligibility list for the residency visas.

The Juventus star is a frequent visitor to the emirate and has been seen at yacht parties and live-streaming his helicopter ride around the city and watching Dubai’s blockbuster New Year’s Eve fireworks.
