Mario theme park will open up in Orlando, Hollywood and Singapore

Super Nintendo World – an expansion to Universal Studio’s park in Osaka – is set to open up this summer. But the company has already said its popularity is prompting the opening of three new parks around the world.

Nintendo World will open up as part of the new Universal Orlando theme park, dubbed Epic Universe, which – at 570-acres – more than doubles the size of Universal’s current resort.

Universal has liked Nintendo’s partnership to be on par with the value of its Harry Potter branded parks, of which Universal already operates three themed areas in Orlando, Hollywood and Japan.

The expansion to Orlando will open up in 2023.

Additional Super Nintendo Worlds will also open up at Universal Studios Hollywood, as well as Universal Studios Singapore.

Nintendo World recently showed off some of the ideas behind Japan’s version of Super Nintendo World, in a video fronted by pop star Charlie XCX. It shoes that visitors will be able to interact with the park using special wristbands and a smartphone app.

The general idea is to make visitors feel like they are physically taking part in their own video game.
