Dubai‘s favourite celebrity resident and former child actor Lindsay Lohan is leaving Dubai for good. And you’re probably wondering why Lohan finally decided to give up the good expat life with the promise of sun and sea for 365 days a year.
When asked about her plans for 2020 by CNN on New Year’s Eve, the starlet revealed that she would be returning to America in an effort to revive her acting career.
“I’m managing my sister, so I want to really focus on me and everything that I can do in my life and come back to America and start filming again, which I’m doing some time soon in this new year,” Lohan revealed. “And, you know, just taking back the life I’ve worked so hard for and sharing it with my family and you guys.”

Lohan made her onscreen debut in the much loved Parent Trap in 1998. She left the US in 2014 after a string of DUI and drug arrests, several stints in rehab and brief jail time. So why did Lohan decide to settle down in Dubai?
“There’s a certain calmness that I find there,” she explained in an interview with W Magazine in 2018. “There’s no paparazzi, no cameras. That’s a big deal for me.”
“I felt so relieved when I moved everything over from London to Dubai, and I saw everything in one place,’ she added. ‘Now I don’t have to open suitcases and live out of hotels and bags. Everything is where it should be.”
In September 2019, she teased her new music single on Dubai radio but since then has deleted the track from her Instagram account.
“Would you like to sit next to me? When you kiss me, I can’t breathe/ I try to stay away from you, but you get me high/ Only person in this town that I like,” Lohan sang in the 30-second teaser.
The track was supposed to be Lohan’s first new music in 11-years, apart from her guest appearance on Duran Duran’s 2015 album, ‘Paper Gods’.
Her recent MTV show promoting her new beach club in Greece was also rumoured to have been cancelled after just a few episodes. The MTV show premiered in January 2019, and followed the star while she dealt with co-running a new business and drama with her staff. In an Apprentice like situation, one member from her team is let go every episode.
However, she is set to star in “Among the Shadows,” scheduled to be out in March 2020. It’ll be her first feature film since appearing in 2013’s The Canyons.
But when exactly is Lohan’s official moving date? That’s still yet to be determined.
