The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a warning to UAE citizens in the United Kingdom or those travelling to the country for the holidays.
They have urged tourists to be on their guard and avoid wearing expensive items.
The warning comes from the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation, following the stabbing of an Omani student in London on and a number of other knife-related incidents in the capital.
Arabian Business reports: Muhammad Bin Abdullah bin Ali Al-Araimi, was stabbed to death by masked men after he refused to give up his Rolex watch.
A statement said: “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation warns UAE citizens residing in or travelling to London of a recent increase in violence and knife crime, including a number of attacks on citizens of Arab Gulf states.
“We advise our citizens to take special care, especially at night, and avoid wearing valuable items that attract attention in public places.”
