Roka will open in Dubai in early 2020

There’s no denying that 10 years after it first opened, Zuma is still one of Dubai‘s most popular restaurants. Now, co-founder Rainer Becker will be opening Zuma’s sister restaurant, his award-winning Japanese robatayaki restaurant Roka, in early 2020.

It will be located in the ME Dubai within The Opus by Omniyat in Business Bay designed by the famous architect Zaha Hadid.

The restaurant will seat 185 people, will have a robata at the heart of the 7,437 sq ft venue, bringing the food and the kitchen to the epicentre of the experience.

The chef will use the Robata grill, which originates from the fishermen of the northern coastal waters off Japan, who would cook the fish on their boats with different charcoals to share the meal with another. The interiors have been designed by Norisan Muramatsu and will have an industrial look and feel, according to the official release.

The new restaurant will also have alfresco dining with a 64 cover terrace.

Roka is massively popular in London where it has four restaurants in Aldwych, Canary Wharf, Mayfair and Charlotte Street and recently celebrated its 15th Anniversary this year.
