Saudi Arabia has announced big plans for it to develop a thriving fashion industry including the creation of a new Fashion Commission and national scholarship programs for homegrown talent.
The announcement was made at the launch of the inaugural Fashion Futures conference in Riyadh, by His Excellency Mr. Hamed M. Fayez, the
Vice Minister at the Ministry of Culture.
While details of the Fashion Commission is yet to be shared, the announcement of the new national scholarship program will see the Kingdom working closely with the prestigious Parsons School of Design in New York, that will help foster young fashion talent from the region.
