Deborah Chow will direct the highly anticipated new series

Deborah Chow is in hot demand this year. Having bagged director credits on big TV shows like American Gods, The Man in the High Castle, Better Call Saul and Jessica Jones, Chow who helmed the new Mandalorian series will also direct the new Disney+ one based around Obi Wan Kenobi.

So far the yet to be named series has revealed that Ewan McGregor is set to reprise his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi, but beyond that, we don’t know much about the show.

All we know is that the series will tackle a very momentous and legendarily mysterious period in Star Wars history: Kenobi’s years on Tatooine between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope.

“We really wanted to select a director who is able to explore both the quiet determination and rich mystique of Obi-Wan in a way that folds seamlessly into the Star Wars saga,” LucasFilm President Kathleen Kennedy said in a statement.

“Based on her phenomenal work developing our characters in ‘The Mandalorian,’ I’m absolutely confident Deborah is the right director to tell this story.”

For those excited too see their favourite Jedi master on screen once again unfortunately, the Obi-Wan series doesn’t have a premiere date yet.
