The new area will be inside Universal Studios Japan in Osaka

The new Super Nintendo World will feature a Super Mario Kart ride and Yoshi’s adventures attractions. It will also feature special wristbands, that let users interact with different parts of the three-levelled area, as well as game consoles.

Super Nintendo World – a custom area inside Universal Studios Japan in Osaka – is destined to open in April 2020. There will be two operational rides from the get-go: A Super Mario Kart ride and a Yoshi’s Adventures ride.

The park comes from a deal done back in 2014 between Nintendo and Universal.

Super Mario World in real life will contain “all the different key elements” from the popular Super Mario games over a three-level landscape, says Universal Parks & Resorts CEO, Tom William. According to William, the park will also feature Bowser and Mario’s friend Princess Peach’s Castle.

Park-goers will also receive magnetic Super Mario World wristbands. Via those wristbands, visitors will “be able to go up and keep score and play with the various games”.

As well as keeping score, the wristbands can also interact with various games consoles spread around the park. That would let you say, customise your character and play various games around the park.
