The iconic house survived with barely a scratch

The house made famous by the Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams adaptation of a Nicholas Sparks’ book has survived Hurricane Dorian.

While the house played a major part in the movie, more recently it made headlines as being the location where Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively secretly got married back in 2012.

The mansion – which is located on the historic Boone Hall Plantation (and serves as McAdam’s summer home in the 2004 movie) withstood the storm. According to reports, a few trees were blown over and there is some debris on the property.

Hurricane Dorian has battered the east coast of the United States over the past couple of days, as well as the Caribbean. And not even ex-James Bonds were immune to the storm.

Sean Connery was trapped inside his Bahamas home for several days as he and wife Micheline Roquebrune waited out the storm. The 89-year-old ex-007 said to the Daily Mail:

“We are both fine. We were lucky compared to many others and the damage here was not great. We had been prepared for the storm, everything was ready in advance – we weren’t taking any chances and knew what to do.”

Connery and his wife have hurricane-experienced staff in their home on the island of New Providence, which was battered by heavy winds, torrential rain and fallen trees.

While the immediate threat of Hurricane Dorian has subsided, currently thousands of volunteers are searching neighbourhoods on Grand Bahama and Abaco Islands.
