One Direction-ers rejoice!

Harry Styles might just be our new King of Rock ‘n’ Roll! The former One Direction band member is in the running to play Elvis Prestley in the new biopic on the famouse crooner.

Following the success of Freddie Mercury and Queen biopic “Bohemian Rhapsody” at the box office and Oscars, and Taron Egerton‘s Elton John biopic “Rocketman”, Baz Luhrmann will now make one on Elvis Prestley.

Styles who himself has won a lot of young hearts might just have a chance at playing the famous 50’s dreamboat that captivated a whole generation with his velvety voice.

The 25-year old has it all, the hair, the moves, the suits, and most importantly the charm to play Elvis, but does he have the on-screen talent? He definitely showed the world he had some serious acting chops in the well recieved Dunkirk.

He’s reportedly spent some time with Luhrmann in New York City last month.

According to The Hollywood Reporter there are five actors who’ve auditioned for the part, along with Whiplash’s Miles Teller, Austin Butler, who will soon be in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who also played noted Elvis obsessive John Lennon in Nowhere Boy.

Will it be Styles? Well considering the movie starts filming very soon, we will know soon enough.
