They beat South Africa by 10 runs, lost to Pakistan by 14 runs, beat Bangladesh by 106 runs, beat West Indies by 8 wickets, beat Afghanistan by 150 runs and then lost to both Sri Lanka and Australia by 20 runs and 64 runs.

Who are the players to watch?
India: Is it any surprise that Virat Kohli is at the top of our list? The top-tier batsman and captain of the team has impressive stats: He averages 243 in five innings. Thanks to the win against Pakistan, Kohli has become the 12th batsman ever to gain the achievement of 20,000 runs. His scores this World Cup may not be super high, he has scored an impressive number of fifties, 82 against Australia is seriously impressive.
England: For the host team, we’re going with their top performer so far, Joe Root. Whilst his team as a whole has underperformed against what’s expected, Root has had a handful of noteworthy matches to keep India on their toes. He was the first player in the Cup to get a century (against Pakistan) and has also become the first Englishman to score three World Cup hundreds. People are saying he is truly blossoming on the World Cup stage.
What does the win mean?
India: If India secures the win over England, it will put them comfortably into the semi-finals. This will also put England in the positon of their possible final match, which is against New Zealand.
England: If England pulls in a win against India, they still need to get the win against NZ’s Black Caps to make it into the semis. The first semis would be 1st place vs 4th, as it stands, Australia has the top spot, and England right now is surprisingly in 5th.
