The World’s 50 Best organisation is set to reveal it’s highly anticipated 50 Best Restaurant list for 2019 in Singapore tonight. It’s the creme de la creme of the restaurant industry and the organisation recently revealed its long list that featured positions 51-120 on the list.
It’s set to start at 4:45pm Dubai time which is 8:45pm Singapore time. The highly controversial list that most critics deem as “sexist” and “eurocentric” has made some big rule changes for the qualifying restaurants this year. The list will not include any of the previous number one restaurants on their list. Their argument for doing so is to counter the critics that call the list “unfair” and will hope to create “a more diverse and inclusive list in the long-term.”
The world’s most famous chefs are already in the Asian city, and from the looks of their Instagram accounts they been on a bit of a culinary journey.
Here’s the current number one chef, Massimo Bottura.
Daniel Humm of Eleven Madison Park is out around town trying out Singaporean restaurants.
Lima’s head chef Virgilio Martinez is in Singapore for the big ceremony as well. He recently stopped by Dubai, where we took him out fishing.
