Just like the incredible rise of the music focused app TikTok, Louis Vuitton’s Artistic Director Virgil Abloh seems to have the ‘Pied Piper’ effect on the masses at the moment, weaving his hypnotic fashion forward style on us all.
Like TikTok, where user numbers have soared, an application remaining virtually unknown to people over 30, Virgil’s influence on fashion and engaging the young is still in its infancy but is undeniable.
His second collection for the House of Vuitton flaunts some of the best accessories in the men’s market, no more so than the new Tambour Slim Rainbow watch and Keepall travel bag.

Created in 2002, the Louis Vuitton Tambour watch marks the true beginnings of the atelier’s watchmaking industry introduction. Fast forward 17 years, Virgil’s version takes us to the incandescent streets of New York with a combination of design and street art. A blend of colours contrasts brightly against the black background of the accessories.
The dial of the Tambour Slim Rainbow watch has been hand-decorated by one of the craftsmen from La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton in Switzerland using the transfer method. A process of transferring the painting onto the dial using a silicon coated rubber stamp, carried out by hand colour by colour, comprising of 42 layers of paint and drying hours at 100 degrees to produce the dial.
