We’re talking on and off court action of more than a million dollars

There’s absolutely no denying the fact that Richard Mille is the king of sports watches. From Rafael Nadal to Alexis Pinturault to Alexander Zverev, the watch is one of the best sport watches around because their professional atheletes actually compete in their respective sports with the watches on their wrists.

Richard Mille wearers were out in full force at the recent French Open in Paris when after winning, Rafael Nadal sauntered up to the ex-King of Spain, Juan Carlos to shake hands, and the world saw a meeting of the wrists adorned with the most exclusive watches in the world.

Rafael Nadal wore his RM 27-03 and the King of Spain his RM009.

The striking red and yellow hues of its Quartz TPT case pay homage to Rafa’s native Spain, while the upper skeletonised bridge evokes the forward-facing head of a bull. A symbol of Spain, this animal is also Nadal’s chosen emblem.

King Juan Carlos’ Richard Mille however was presented in 2005. The RM 009 Felipe Massa was the lightest tourbillion watch ever produced when it launched (29 grams without the strap), created using an ALUSIC case and a skeleton movement made of aluminium-lithium.

In the world of watches, owning or wearing a Richard Mille automatically makes you a part of the exclusive club of the likes of Jay-Z, Pharell, Vladimir Putin, and more.

Nadal used to wear the RM 27-02 but has since been upgraded. Richard Mille only produced 50 of these insane watches, which each go for $775,000 a piece.

Given the steallar display of both their watches, it’s fair to say that Richard Mille was also a winner at the French Open.
