The world of motorcycles and fashion collides for a special one-off Sotheby’s auction this week. There’s a Berluti bespoke Triumph Bonneville T120 that is up for grabs for a cool $27,000 and the bidding for it is open until May 7, 2019.
According to the lot details, the bespoke motorcycle takes its inspiration from the DNA of Maison Berluti: pure lines, the desire to showcase beautiful leather and contemporary, timeless design.
There’s only one such motorcycle that exists in the world and apart from its mechanical components (frame and engine), it is based on the mechanical components and technical specification of a Triumph Bonneville T120, one of the most iconic models ever produced by Triumph.
The bike’s bodywork emobodies all things Maison Berluti from its streamlined, sleek and edgy form to the backrest of the saddle seat, which is a clear homage to the brand’s Démesure last 2019 collection. According to Berluti, the Demesure last is the starting point of this creep outsole line where volumes and materials are redesigned to express the brand’s punk rock take.

There’s also a bit of bling on the bike with its solid disc wheels. According to Sotheby’s, this choice was specifically made to celebrate the world-speed-record-breaking motorcycles of the 1920s and 1930s, which used solid disc wheels to improve aerodynamics and performance of the bikes.
The leather saddle seat and handlebar grips are covered in Vitello Fiore, however there’s one catch. This motorcycle has been designed for track use only.
This is not the first Berluti custom automobile to go up for auction. The “Berluti: The Art of Craftsmanship” 14-lot collection’s standout suction product is the Porsche 911 Targa 2.4-liter that’s had the interior reimagined by Berluti.
However, if you’re the winning bidder, you also get to take home along with this custom-made masterpiece, an open-faced helmet with custom leatherwork and a pair of calfskin riding boots.
