Just as Michael Jackson became ‘a culturally undeniable phenomenon’, Virgil Abloh’s second collection at the House of Louis Vuitton did not disappoint his ever increasing fan base in men’s fashion.

He’s up there, if not the one.” Stripping away the fun filled tricks though, such as the diamond gloves, sequined military jackets or the glow in the dark sneakers, Virgil’s ‘smooth criminal’ tailoring, his use of a concrete grey colour palette and his re-thinking of fabrication and scale was outstanding.
It felt like he stepped up the production level even more than his highly accomplished first season. There seemed to be an elegance with a streetwear sensibility that reminds so much of the change in style from the early 90s maximalist ethos to the late 90s nod towards minimalism.
Just like Michael’s ground-breaking Off the Wall, Virgil has demonstrated an uncanny knack for knowing what people want to wear.
