Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and his wife, MacKenzie, are divorcing after 25 years of marriage, according to a joint statement on Twitter.

Bezos is the world’s richest person, with an estimated net worth of $137 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. It is not known yet if the two have an existing pre-nuptual agreement.
However, if they choose to file in Washington state, where Amazon is headquartered, all assets accumulated during their 25-year marriage would be considered to be owned by both of them, according to state law, unless they have a prenuptial agreement. In essence, that mean Mackenzie Bezos would get 50% of estimated net worth of $137 billion.
He also owns 16 percent of Amazon along with the Washington Post and Blue Origin.
Jeff Bezos is reportedly dating former TV anchor Lauren Sanchez, who recently separated from her husband, Hollywood agent Patrick Whitesell.
The New York Post and the National Enquirer reported that Jeff Bezos, 54, is currently dating 49-year-old Sanchez.
“During a blockbuster four-month investigation, The ENQUIRER tracked Bezos, who turns 55 on Jan. 12, and secret lover Sanchez across five states and 40,000 miles, tailed them in private jets, swanky limos, helicopter rides, romantic hikes, five-star hotel hideaways, intimate dinner dates and ‘quality time’ in hidden love nests,” the National Enquirer wrote.
