And join the Dubai Fitness Challenge’s 30-day programme

Step away from the Cheetos. There’s no better time to do yourself (and that flabby thing you call a body) some good.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Sports Council, has urged the public to join this year’s Dubai Fitness Challenge.

The 30-day fitness movement – which launched just last year – will run from October 26 to November 2018, and hopes to attract more than 1-million participants this time around. It’s part of a wider initiative to help Dubai become the world’s most active city.

Sheikh Hamdan issued the challenge on social media, using both Instagram and Snapchat to encourage the public to join in with the series of fitness events that happen throughout the challenge.

“This year, we have a target of one million participants, and I urge you all – residents and visitors – to invest in yourselves and your happiness – so you can better contribute to the welfare of your families, your communities and the global society.”

“Take this opportunity, join the challenge and let’s move towards collectively making Dubai the most active city in the world,” he said.

The Crown Prince said that it would be even easier to participate this year, and there will be more fitness events in a wider range of places around Dubai.

The challenge will kick off at the Dubai Festival City Opening Weekend Carnival, presented by DEWA in association with Dubai Festival City. Throughout the month, there will be five themed fitness villages, spread across the city, and it will finally culminate at the Burj Park Closing Weekend Carnival, presented by Emirates NBD in association with Emaar.
