Back in 2005, a then 24-year-old and ambitious Jake Gyllenhaal received critical acclaim after an incredible performance in Brokeback Mountain. The film saw him take home an award for ‘Best supporting actor’ in the BAFTA awards.
Then, five years later, he recieved another accolade: he was crowned best male actor at the ‘Golden Globe Awards’ after his role in Love & Other Drugs. The world-renowned, ‘Nocturnal’ actor was announced earlier today as the new face of Calvin Klein’s Eternity perfumes campaign.
A black-and-white print ad shot by photographer Willy Vanderperre, was released in which the 36-year old actor/director features alongside model and advocate Liya Kebede and Leila, a four-year-old actress.
The print ad will be followed, sometime in October, by a television campaign set to be centred around themes of romance, love and commitment.
Jake Gyllenhall will be following the footsteps of former ‘Klein-ers’; Mark Wahlberg, Kate Moss, Margot Robbie, Ed Burns, Christy Turlington, Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid. It’s safe to say he’s starting his modelling career in the right direction.
