With the Hollywood machine churning out mega-bucks franchises on a yearly basis, the ground is fertile for spin-off. In the past year Dubai has seen the launch of Bollywood Land, Legoland and the Marvel-inspired IMG World – so the announcment of new theme park rides based on The Hunger Games franchise comes as no surprise.
Yes, according to the developer Dubai Parks & Resorts, Dubai is getting ready to serve up some entertainment for “The Capitol”. The novel-and-film franchise, which sees children battling to the death for the entertainment of those in privilege, will be the inspiration for two new rides at Dubai’s Motion-Gate theme park.
The first of the two rides will be the “Capitol Bullet Train” which will take you backwards, forwards, and upside down on a rollercoaster journey from District 12 to the Capitol.
The second is the “Panem Aerial Tour”, which will involve a 3D-flight over the landmarks of the nation.
Dubai Parks & Resorts, home of three main theme parks: Motion-gate, Legoland and Bollywood parks has been attracting visitors from all over the globe since it was launched last year. The return of their winter season was announced from September 1; however, no date has been decided for the launch of the ‘games’, yet it’s expected to start very soon.
