What’s your favourite wardrobe item?
My bow-ties. They are a small, subtle detail, yet contain such a strong impact. You can make a dull outfit come alive, as well as using relatively loud and funky designs without making the entire outfit scream ‘look at me’.
How would you describe your style?
Practical, functional and maybe a little old-school. I don’t like to draw attention or to wear loud and colourful items. I like to keep it simple. In today’s world I find there is a constant information overload and too many important things to think about in a day. Becoming more organised and automated means daily decisions are made easier and therefore we can be stress-free.
What does your style say about you?
That I am unique, but not overly flamboyant or demanding attention. Serious on the outside, but edgy and wild on the inside!
What’s the best style advice you can to give our readers?
You can look good, turn heads, and be classy without spending $1,000 on an outfit. Just because something is being sold in a designer store doesn’t not mean that it is high quality or that you will look good in it. It is all about what fits you and your needs and functions on a daily basis. Too many people are worried what other people think, and are drawn to the materialistic consumerism of today’s world; they need to leave that behind and be themselves.
What’s the best style advice you have ever been given?
When I was 14 years-old I was getting ready to leave for my job and my father said, “You are not leaving the house looking like that; a Blaschke (my family name) will always look good”. An argument followed and I ended up changing. But it made me realise that what you wear has a big impact on what people think of you, and that is directly related to reputation and your name.
