What’s your favourite wardrobe item?
I have a beautiful cashmere Armani tie that I love to wear. I have a weakness for ties.
How would you describe your style?
My style mostly revolves around a modern classic theme.
What does your style say about you?
I am quite traditional but I also have a bold side. That is what gives a refinement to my style but I hope with just enough edge to stay relevant.
What’s the best style advice that you can give to our readers?
If unsure, never steer too far from the road. Take in some of the classic looks and bank them for when you are unsure of what to wear. These looks will always evolve slightly but there are many great examples that will always be on trend that you can replicate. For example, a good grey suit, blue shirt and a neat black tie. Even the blue-jeans-and-white-T-shirt combo will never go out of fashion.
What’s the best style advice you have ever been given?
My father once told me, “Style never goes out of fashion”.
How has your style changed as you’ve got a bit older?
I conform less. I don’t necessarily try to follow trends anymore. I am more comfortable with what I like and what I want to wear.
Does your style change when you travel?
Yes, I suppose it does. Travelling gives me a great opportunity to try a new look or bring out another part of my personality. For example, linen trousers while in the Mediterranean or denim on Sunset Strip in LA. In Dubai I always feel like I am constantly on the clock, so even when I go out I try to stay sharp even if it’s a sports jacket, V-neck and a good pair of slacks.
Which essential wardrobe items can you not live without?
Jeans, white crewneck T-shirt and a classic pair of Converse trainers.
