How does your personality reflect in your style?
Everyone’s style reflects their personality — how you dress says a lot about you, from the level of confidence you have, how extroverted or introverted you are, or how much you belong to a particular cluster; it can even show how you deal with business. Basically the style of a person is his first and most important business card.
What’s the best style advice you can give our readers?
Aim for getting the details right and do not over-complicate your style. Elegance is all about simplicity.
What’s the best style advice you’ve ever been given?
From my mentor Antonio Catalani, who once said that in order for a fashion brand to succeed it needs to have character. A brand that you wear has to have a story and that story has to say something about yourself.
How has your style changed as you’ve got older?
When you’re younger you are more eager to follow fashionable trends that are not necessarily in line with your style.
What three wardrobe items can you not live without?
My favourite jeans by Seven Department, my custom-made shirt by Olga, and my favourite grey Car shoes.
Who’s your style icon?
Sean Connery, because whatever he is wearing he always manages to be incredibly cool in an effortless manner; it’s elegance with a little machismo thrown in for good measure, but always understated.
What is your favourite outfit? How does it make you feel?
A pleasant suit is always the best outfit for a man, well cut with a D1 Milano watch peeking out from the cuff shows you are a man with confidence and a sense of self-worth — a man happy in his own skin.
