What’s your favourite wardrobe item?
A pair of red-and-black striped Louis Leeman shoes. They’re super comfy and unique, so I wear them for many occasions.
How would you describe your style?
Classic, but with attention to small details that make my outfits look unique, and with an important focus on shoes.
How does your personality help reflect your style choices?
Slick, discreet, fit and impeccable. I hardly dress-up randomly, even to go to the mall or the beach. There is always a logic behind the composition of each outfit.
What’s the best style advice you can give to our readers?
Stand out by wearing what makes you feel good, and never forget that “you are what you wear”. Not only does your wardrobe send a message to people, but it has a massive impact on your mood. So my advice is to set aside fashion trends for a minute, and think twice before dressing-up in an outfit that’s not “you”. And expensive clothing doesn’t always look good, so stop over-spending on things that don’t fit you.
What’s the best style advice you’ve ever been given?
My grandfather, who was always dressed impeccably, once told me, “You can tell a gentleman by his shoes”. I have had an obsession with shoes since I was 10 years-old, and now have a tiny collection of over 60 pairs.
How has your style changed as you’ve got a bit older?
It always seems to go back to a very classic fit, but my feet are always the ones wearing a bit of “non-classic” dressing.
Does your style change when you travel?
It tends to remain the same when travelling to the US or Europe, but for some reason, I tend to wear a more relaxed wardrobe in Asia, and this is not really related to a particular country or city. I think it’s more about adapting my dress code to an Eastern culture, to better blend in and see a country from another angle.
