Let’s be honest: when it comes to “look at me” energy, MINI isn’t typically the first name that comes to mind. But then again, this isn’t just any MINI.

Coated in a bold ‘Rebel Red’, the all-new electric MINI Aceman SE makes a statement long before you hit the accelerator. It’s compact, yes, but commanding – with a muscular stance, flush door handles, and a sharp octagonal front grille.

The exterior has been meticulously crafted into a self-assured, striking form. Its flush surfaces and sleek lines add a touch of sportiness to its electric soul. Makes me want to say, it’s MINI reimagined – punchy, and unapologetically modern.

What really caught me off guard was how roomy this MINI turned out to be. When I picked up our photographer and art director – gear and all – for the shoot, the first reaction was, “We won’t fit. We’ll need a second car for location.” But the Aceman proved them wrong: three adults, one hefty camera bag, and not a single complaint.

Inside, there’s a real sense of theatre. The cabin is bright and spacious, elevated by minimalist design and sustainable materials. MINI offers a leather-free interior using sustainable, recycled materials. Seats use 100% recycled textiles, ensuring the same comfort and quality as leather. For the sustainability-conscious, this is a statement of intent – and for design lovers, it’s just good taste.

Then there’s the tech. At the centre of it all is the world’s first round OLED display in an automobile – a 240mm touchscreen that acts as your command centre. It’s crisp, intuitive, and very MINI. Think infotainment, assistance, navigation – all beautifully integrated and feels familiar like your phone interface.

And for those worried about range – don’t be. On a full charge, MINI Aceman offers up to 406 km. The Green Mode helps conserve battery life, while the MINI App makes it easy to locate charging stations across the city. With more public chargers popping up every week, range anxiety is officially outdated.

From lane departure warnings to parking assist (loved the 360-view parking camera), the Aceman ticks every box. It’s charismatic, and quietly confident. And above all, fun. Forget the ‘girl car’ stereotype – which I’ve heard more than once from friends – because sometimes, fun is enough.
