Huawei’s competitor to the MacBook air has landed with 10th-gen Intel CPUs

Earlier in the month Huawei announced an updated version of its ultra slim MateBook X range.

Now we have a release date for when Huawei’s best competitor to the Apple MacBook Air will arrive in the UAE. Pre-orders start on October 8th, and are expected to be on shelves by the end of the month.

The MateBook X features a 13-inch 3000 x 2000 resolution display, with a whopping 90 per cent screen-to-body ratio. It comes with support for speedy Wi-Fi 6, and comes with Intel’s much-touted 10th generation Intel CPUs.

The line’s trademark thin-and-light fanless design is present and accounted for, and it has a maximum thickness of just 13.6mm and weight of just under 1 kilogram. In terms of connectivity, you get a pair of USB-C ports (either of which can be used to charge the device) and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

You will be able to pick up the Huawei MateBook X in the UAE for AED5,500 (along with some free goodies including wireless headphones).

The MateBook X sits just below the MateBook X Pro in Huawei’s lineup. It’s a tad more expensive at AED6,500, but that extra money gets you some graphical grunt under the hood which should make working with multimedia files and high-resolution photos that much easier.

In other news, the long-rumored leak that Apple will not include a wall charger or wired headphones in its next-generation iPhone 12 appears to be true. But that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Here’s why.
