Google Glass Enterprise Edition 2 has been designed for professionals in mind

  • Google has unveiled the second generation of Google Glass
  • The smart specs are aimed at professional industries such as manufacturing
  • Google Glass Enterprise Edition 2 has beefier specs, including battery life
  • They now work alongside a clever new artificial intelligence engine built by Qualcomm

Despite its first pair of smart glasses – Google Glass – failing to gain traction back in 2013, the Big G is back with a second pair meant to be used in professional industries, such as logistics, manufacturing and field services.

Google Glass Enterprise Edition was released in 2018, and the company has now announced the second generation is here.

There have been several improvements of Glass 2,  including more power, faster performance and a new AI engine built on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon XR1 platform (the processor-maker’s ‘tiny-but-mighty’ range).

Camera cquality and low-light performance have also been improved, and battery life has been extended. Glass Enterprise Edition 2 can now be charved via USB-C.

Unlike previous generations which ran on a custom operating system, these glasses support Android Enterprise Mobile Device Management – whch allows businesses to easily track who’s using the device and where.

Glass Enterprise Edition 2 is going to be sold exclusively through Glass  partners, who can create the smart specs to customer’s needs.
