Oppo has pulled the wraps off its new mid-range flagship: the Reno5 Pro 5G.
The new blower packs what Oppo is calling a ‘3D borderless display’ at 6.5-inches, superfast charging support and a 64-megapixel camera on the back.
Last year’s Reno4 was impressive for packing a load of top-notch tech inside a slimline body, with a price tag that didn’t break the bank. The Reno5 keeps this winning formula, with almost flagship specs for a wallet-friendly price tag.

Oppo is putting a lot of emphasis on its cameras, with a triple sensor setup on the back and a 32-megapixel front-facing selfie camera. According to Oppo, the new snapper packs artificial intelligence that should vastly improve night-time shooting. It also comes with a new portrait video mode, so you can record buttery smooth 4K video with creamy bokeh in the background.
The Reno5 also packs Oppo’s lightning-fast (but comedically-named) SuperVOOC 2.0 fast charging. Plug the smartphone into its compatible charger, and it will give you enough juice for four hours of video playback in just five minutes.

Elsewhere, you get that borderless screen (with a built-in fingerprint reader hidden under the display) that curves around the sides. Previously, phones with screens that slant over the sides of the phone can be a tad difficult to hold; fortunately, the Reno5 avoids this thanks to an extra grippy back.
As the name makes very clear, the Reno5 comes with 5G connectivity. That should make for quicker upload and download speeds, which is handy for those who like to stream on the go – or for heavy social media users.
