Bang & Olufsen celebrates its 95th anniversary the only way it knows how – expensively

Bang & Olufsen has a long and storied history.

It all began in 1925, when one Mr. Peter Bang sat down with his friend Mr. Svend Olfusen and set out to produce radios. The first product they made was developed in the attic of Svend’s house (where the Olufsen family still live to this day).

The duo were the first to produce a mains-powered radio, quickly followed by cinema speakers (remember, films were mostly silent in the 1920s). Their formula was simple: apply quality materials with new technology. It is a formula that has done them well.

Fast forward 95 years and the Bang & Olufsen legacy is still going strong. Now known for its stellar sounding speakers, the Danish brand is celebrating its 95th anniversary by slathering its most popular products in gold.

Bang olufsen gold collection (4)

The collection spans headphones and speakers, including its Beovision Harmony television. We imagine Peter and Svend would be proud.
