The new operating system will give your Mac a visual upgrade

Apple has just flipped the switch on its Big Sur update, the next iteration of it Mac operating system.

The new MacOS was rolled out to developers earlier in the year, but as of right now you can update your Mac to get all the benefits of this new operating system. The update brings with it a total visual overhaul of Mac OS, complete with new app window borders, app logo designs, a new dock (with new dock icons) and a more streamlined notification center.

Apple has also upgraded Safari (giving it much stronger privacy measures) and extra speed. Messages also are natively integrated to into Big Sur, meaning it should be easier than ever to communicate via iOS.

Apple Maps has also been given an upgrade, along with a new Guides function. Your AirPods have also been given an update, which should make swapping them from your laptop to phone (and back again) will be that much easier.

Lastly, Big Sur also works with Apple’s new M1 silicon MacBooks – for better performance in general.

To get it, just head to your app store and click update. It’s that simple.
