Samsung unveiled the new Galaxy Note 10, which is set to be in stores in the UAE on August 23.
The next-generation Note was called “the world’s most powerful mobile device” by DJ Koh, head of IT and Mobile Communications at Samsung.
“Every element of the Galaxy Note 10 was designed to help users achieve more,” said Koh, during the launch in New York.
“Whether they’re finishing a big project for work, capturing and editing a video, or playing their favourite mobile game, the Galaxy Note 10 will help them do it faster and better.”
Despite the ‘10’ moniker, the first Note was unveiled eight years ago and was widely credited for kicking off the big-screen smartphone trend.
At the launch of the Note 10 and the larger Note, 10+ Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella made an on-stage appearance, saying that Samsung would be working more closely with the company, hoping to make using the company’s Windows Apps even easier on the Android devices.
“For years applications were built for single devices, but in a world of 5G, cloud and AI (artificial intelligence) we get to rethink it all,” Nadella said.
“Our ambition is to help people be productive on any device, anywhere. We are very excited about this partnership.”
Both models of the Note come with Samsung’s trademark ‘S Pen’ stylus. The regular Note 10 comes with a 6.3-inch screen, while the Note 10+ packs a 6.8-inch blower. Some versions of the Note 10 will by 5G connected.
Samsung also pulled the wraps off its Galaxy notebook computer – the Galaxy Book S – which is billed as an ultra-light and super-slim laptop with built-in SIM connection. Samsung says it hopes the laptop will bridge the gap between phone and laptop.
